Monitoring, closing and your project management path

The weekly status report is short and clear, often using RAG colours: green (on track), amber (a risk needs attention), red (a problem needs a management decision). Never hide red: management can only help if they know early.

Closing is the phase many forget: confirm the customer accepted the deliverables, hand the system to operations with documentation and training, close contracts, and write up lessons learned: what went well, and what to do differently next time?

Project roles for MIS graduates: you usually start as a project coordinator or analyst on a project team, then become a technical project manager, a Scrum Master or a product owner. Demand is high in Saudi Arabia thanks to large digital transformation programmes.
