Lesson 1 of 13

Your first Python program

Python is an easy-to-read language used for data analysis, automating repetitive tasks, building systems and AI. For an MIS student it is the fastest way to analyse data too big for Excel, clean it, and connect systems.

PYTHON
print("Hello, MyMisPal!")
print("I study MIS")

print writes to the screen. Text must be inside quotes. You can give print several values separated by commas, and it puts a space between them.

PYTHON
# This is a comment: Python ignores it
print("SQL", "Python", "Java")
print("Total:", 3 + 4)
Watch outPython is case-sensitive: print works, but Print raises an error.
Want to run Python on your computer? Install it from python.org, save the code as hello.py, and run python hello.py. Or use VS Code or Jupyter Notebook.
